Anxiety

“When my parents breached the castle gates, Alsatians would ceremoniously ambush me under the pretense of welcoming me to their domain. As I fumble while conjuring convincing excuses to escape “School,” my neighbors would dramatically quip with my parents about setting their Alsatians on me to help motivate me to go to school. It was during my childhood that laughter and humor were alienated from my existence. Blood boiling anxiety is and continues to this very day bludgeon me alongside me feeling hopeless and lost within this very ecosystem that currently operates. Andy Horner, streamer better known as ‘Anxious Andy,’ while still advocates Detects mental health problems through anxiety. People can range from a singular million to hundreds of thousands on various social media and successfully relieves them of valuation through humor.

Anxiety disorders if not treated on time can severely affect a person. post the covid restrictions in the UK and other countries, the numbers skyrocketed.

Alongside Children In Need

America’s school system rules the world, reigning supreme as only second to India. Children not trying to socially improvise and conduct themselves more socially acceptable tend to get bullied or made fun of. Horner was just another member to join this circus when he reached the end of primary school. He traces squiscule (quizzical) social signs including disabilities such as autism, which begs the question; children (and your arrica), aim to stretch their imaginations and it’s okay if it runs wild, right? I have vivid yet distant memories that float around in my head like a lost balloon after being cut from the string. I’d give anything for a pilot that doesn’t welcome me to the delusions that I summon from thin air.”

His formative years were rather lonely. Other than some considerate lunch monitors and another outcast called Julie, Andy didn’t have any genuine pals. He celebrated a number of birthday parties where he received blank stares and absent attendees; Julie was the only attendee. To cope with his solitude, Andy created an imaginary friend which served as the only source of companionship.

When Education and Anxiety Meet

In the hopes that a change would do him good, Andy’s parents enrolled him and his brother in a private school. But for him, entrance exams were a complete nightmare, and he failed them — twice. Another private school came without exam requirements, but a shift came with higher fees.

Although Andy made a few friends, his sports proficiency was unmatched. It is the case that he struggled with his academics. Simply being posed the most fundamental of queries like “What is 2 times 2” would send him into utter panic, and the ridicule that followed did not help the situation. Sometimes his anxiety was so bad that he would wet himself out of fear of asking to leave the classroom.

In the meantime, his brother was thriving while Andy lagged behind. Parent evenings turned into yearly torture and fueled the narrative of being “failing” and damaging his self-worth. Eventually the school ‘politely’ suggested he leave, feeling it inhumane to continue charging fees for a student so clearly not coping.

A New School, Same Battles

As we returned to the public education system, Andy’s parents attempted to help by providing two assigned “buddies” to assist him. Rather than feeling included as was intended, Andy felt like he was a burden. Friendship was out of reach, and the anxiety around being targeted by the educators had him locked in a cage.

To avoid school at all costs, he would sometimes flee through the bathroom window or lock himself in his bedroom. On one alarming incident, two strangers pursued him while yelling that they were “taking him away”. Social services Andy later learned were the ones looking for him.

He had formed some loose connections during his schooling, but Andy still left his high school with no qualifications, a shattered sense of self, and what he would later learn are mental health issues.

Struggle as an Adult

With adulthood came a variety of new experiences, yet, most of Andy’s struggles stayed with him. He entered his twenties and immediately found his first girlfriend, but the relationship turned out to be toxic. Wanting to hangout with friends resulted in wondrous beatings.

Eventually escaping, he found himself in another abusive relationship he thought would quell his fear of solitude. The relationships led to marriage and to children, but was accompanied by unrelenting years of emotional and physical turmoil. Following the divorce, Andy completely lost contact with his kids whom his ex-wife won over with manipulative rhetoric.

Not long after, his mother passed away. The overwhelming grief pushed him to attempt to end his life which marked the beginning of a drastic change in his life.

Transforming Pain into Purpose

It was after this overwhelming period that Andy started speaking out on social media. Telling his own story was cathartic, not only for him but also for the many who experienced the same pain and solitude.

Through raw honesty and vulnerability, Anxious Andy emerged on social media. His content sdhined, especially now when the world was becoming more aware of mental health. Andy’s story brought relief, motivation, and the reality of companionship to many.
